It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Ugh, so my "Fun house reflections" design has been in the fog (the top nine where you can't see how many votes you have) every since the derby opened this week. THIS time I got the design in at the beginning of the derby.

Much like two weeks ago with my "Life Cycle of Caterpillar"(It ended in 4th, sadly though it was 4 votes ahead of 5th so thanks everyone!) I'm just not sure if I have enough votes to place in the top three so if any of you guys out there can vote, please log in and give me one.

Or if you can't vote(You have to have purchased one thing from woot to be able to vote in the derbies) spread the word! Tell a friend! The voting last until this Thursday at noon, about 24 hours.
